About

European Youth Parliament (EYP) Greece is a non-profit
organization, under the status of a ‘society’ under Greek law
that was founded in 1992 in Thessaloniki.

EYP Greece numbers 140 members which come
from Northern, as well as Southern and Central areas in Greece.

EYP Greece organizes every year 2 3- Day National Selection Conferences, one on Thessaloniki and one in Athens,
which gather high school-students participants
from all over Greece.

In particular EYP Greece invites 3 member high school teams from all over Northern Greece- Macedonia, Thessaly and Thrace- , as well as from Athens, to participate in a three day session, where students go through similar activities of team-building, committee work and general assembly as described above.

The aim

The aim of the three day National Selection Conference is to select the 8 students that will represent Greece at the EYP International and Regional Sessions. In addition to the National Selection Conferences EYP Greece organizes Regional sessions, which gather participants from all over Greece and Europe, that are involved in EYPs regular activities.

A recent example of that is the “Kavala Regional Summer Session” which was organized in 2008  and the “Naousa Regional Summer Session” in 2010. Both sessions gathered 170 EYPers from several other EYP National Committees, as well as students that had participated in National Selection Conferences in the past, for a 7-day session. The session consists of Teambuilding, Committee Work and General Assembly, as well as other cultural events.

Last but not least

Finally, it is of great importance to mention that EYP Greece has been assigned with the organization of the Spring International Session of 2011, which will be organized in Athens.
In the past EYP Greece has organized 3 International Sessions, 2 in Thessaloniki, in 1989 and 1997 respectively and one in Athens in 2000.
